2013 Public Meeting

The Mississippi  Renaissance Garden Foundation is introducing  its Seeds  for Services Program at its annual public  meeting on Thursday, May 9th  from 5:30 – 7:30 PM at the Donal Snyder Community Center at 2320 Pass Road in Biloxi. The program will help  the Horticulture for Humanity Movement  inspire, educate and equip the residents and visitors of south MS to plant beautiful  and sustainable gardens on our gulf coast.  Coastal businesses, organizations, schools, churches, neighborhood associations and individuals are invited to select free flower, vegetable and herb seed packets and/or bulbs to plant  in gardens or distribute to others as well as receive a Horticulture for Humanity Certificate of Service  in exchange for volunteer services to Horticulture for Humanity in the following areas:

   Garden Assistance such as construction, planting, teaching or demonstrations of gardening techniques. maintenance at the Katrina Sculpture Garden and/or Hiller Park Renaissance Garden (Note: Gardening experience is helpful, but  not required. They are teaching gardens.)

   Fundraising  Assistance through organization or community projects/events of your choice such as raffles, charity run/walk, dinner, auctions, 

   Administrative, Technical or Clerical Assistance such as  data processing, recording,  filing, telephone communication and mail-outs

   Marketing Assistance such as designing posters flyers, literary and photographic recording of events, web site and social media promotional ideas and management

   Community Outreach Assistance with H4H exhibit booths and resource distribution at coastal events (Garden and Patio Show, Earth Day, local conferences or conventions)

Any  group or individual may attend or  send a representative  interested in membership, volunteering or selecting seeds or bulbs, gardening demonstration and door prizes.  Refreshments  will be provided by MS Gulf Coast Youth Build’s Cafe’ Climb.
