I attended the inaugural Farm Bureau Horticultural Crops Commodity Meeting at Coastal Research and Extension Center yesterday. The number one concern of the green industry in Mississippi? LABOR, of course!
The Mississippi Farm Bureau Federation Board of Directors recently voted to establish horticultural crops as a recognized commodity in the state. Farm Bureau will be holding its Summer Commodity Meeting next Monday, July16 at the Mississippi State University Coastal Research and Extension Center from 9-noon. The meeting will offer valuable information to help producers grow and maintain current operations. Also, growers will help develop policies to guide Federation staff and the new Horticultural Crops Advisory Committee for the upcoming year.
Looks like we’ll get a break in the rain over the weekend! No big plans for me. Hope everyone has a happy Friday the 13th!
